Gridfinity generator for bins and baseplates

Boxie generates Gridfinity bins and baseplates in your browser. Draw them on your drawer's grid, set every detail and download STL files that go straight into your slicer. No install, no OpenSCAD, no account needed.

What you can generate

Every part follows the Gridfinity specification, so it fits any other Gridfinity box and baseplate.

  • Bins from 1 × 1 up to 5 × 5 cells, in 7 mm height units
  • L-shaped, T-shaped and other figure bins, one cell wide, for awkward spaces
  • A full, thin or no stacking lip, and wall thickness to a tenth of a millimetre
  • Dividers in either direction and scoops that make small parts easy to pick out
  • Magnet holes for 5 × 2 mm magnets in every cell's base
  • Baseplates split for your print bed, with connector clips and optional magnets

A generator that sees the whole drawer

Most Gridfinity generators make one part at a time: you type in a size, get an STL and hope it fits next to the others. Boxie starts from the drawer. Enter its inside size and it works out the largest grid that fits, with even margins around it. Then you draw boxes on that grid, so every box has its place before you print anything.

When you are done, one zip holds every unique box, every baseplate piece and the clips, with a parts list that says how many of each to print.

How to generate Gridfinity STL files

  1. Enter your drawer's inside width and depth, or a grid size in cells.
  2. Check how the baseplate is split into printable pieces, and turn on clips and magnets if you want them.
  3. Drag across the grid to draw boxes, or pick ready-made models from the catalog.
  4. Open each box to set its height, walls, lip, dividers, scoops and magnets, and check it in 3D.
  5. Download one zip with all the STL files, or each part on its own.

Boxie or a parametric CAD model?

Parametric models for OpenSCAD or Fusion 360 are powerful, but you need the software and some patience with their parameters. Boxie puts the common options on buttons and sliders and shows the result in 3D right away. The files are built by a geometry kernel in your browser, so they come out watertight and slicer-ready, with nothing to repair.

Need something unusual, such as a holder for one particular tool? Look through the catalog of ready-made models, or combine Boxie's baseplate with a model from anywhere else: it is all the same standard.

Questions and answers

Is this Gridfinity generator free?

Yes. Every box, baseplate and clip can be generated and downloaded for free, with no ads and no account. An account only keeps your drawers between devices.

Which file format do I get?

Binary STL in millimetres: one watertight solid per part, lying flat, ready for any slicer such as PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or Cura.

Can it make bins bigger than 5 × 5 cells?

No. 5 × 5 cells (210 mm) fits a 256 mm print bed with room for a brim. For a bigger drawer, plan several boxes; the baseplate is split into pieces automatically.

Do the files work with other Gridfinity parts?

Yes. The bins and baseplates follow the Gridfinity spec (42 mm grid, 7 mm height units, the standard base profile and stacking lip), so they mix with bins from Printables, MakerWorld or other generators.
